SCOTLAND!

For our weekend trip we went to Edinburgh, Scotland. After a long four hour train ride we finally made it. Honestly, it wouldn't have been my first choice to go there but I was pleasantly surprised. Scotland was just so picturesque everywhere you looked. I really enjoyed the scenery and greenery! There were so many trees and fields everywhere, as well as sheep! I have never seen so many sheep in my life. Seriously. But they were cute. Some differences I noticed from London was that Edinburgh was a lot smaller, or less populated. It felt much more quaint and didn't have the hustle and bustle feel like London does. Everyone in London is always go go going and I was glad that the vibe wasn't like that in Edinburgh. Among other things I noticed was that the Scottish people are very proud to be Scottish. Scotland has never really been independent so I feel like that might be why. They are just very proud of their roots and you can see that through things such as men wearing kilts around or playing bagpipes or even haggis. Everyone in Scotland eats haggis with everything. They eat it as a meal or use it as a spread or dip. What is haggis you say? Basically all internal organs ground up in an intestine and then cooked. Doesn't sound very appealing but it wasn't that bad. And they actually don't even make haggis like that anymore. Nowadays there's a more modern way of cooking it and with less organs. I think this dish goes back to keeping with their traditions and pride. Another thing I noticed was that people weren't so ritzy and snooty like in London. It was more working class people (as in not every woman on the street was wearing a Prada bag). So definitely a little more laid back. We also visited Lochness, home of the famous Lochness monster, or so they say. It honestly was a fun trip, a little tiring, but fun nonetheless.
