Stonehenge

Before we visited Bath, we actually went to Stonehenge. A lot of people think Stonehenge is just a pile of random rocks in the middle of England but I was extremely curious to go because of the story behind the rocks. According to archaeologists, the rocks were built anytime between 3000 and 2000 BC and were originally from Wales. This is one of the biggest mysteries of Stonehenge, how did the rocks travel so far from Wales to Wiltshire, where the stones are located now. There are different theories as to why Stonehenge was built such as that it was a place for healing or for rituals and burials when people passed, since human remains have been found in and around the site. So that just shows that there was a tradition associated with the stones, they weren't just made for decoration, they had a meaning and purpose to the people that built them and you can see that in the way they are placed. You can also tell the stones are so old just by looking at them. They're probably the oldest monument I've seen yet, haha. But that ties in with the whole tradition of the rituals that took place here, even though no one is actually sure what they were. The only thing I did not like about Stonehenge was how cold and windy it was!!! I would've loved to have stayed a little longer but then it started to rain and being from Arizona, you know I was not okay with that! I still enjoyed Stonehenge and wouldn't be opposed to going back.
